Energize Missouri Agriculture Field Day Training Program
During 2011, Kaysinger will be hosting 7 field days in our 7 county region. These field days will teach attendants how to alter their farming techniques to become more energy efficient.
If you, or someone you know, would be interested in renting KBRPC your farm in order to host a field day, please contact Kristi Mackey. We are offering $200 to each field day host, and are looking for hosts in Bates and Vernon counties. A host must allow the energy auditor to complete an energy assessment on their farm prior to the field day, in addition to allowing approximately 20 people on your farm one morning this summer in order to learn energy efficient farming practices.
Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.
Please contact Kristi at Kaysinger Basin with any questions.
Energize Missouri Homes
Kaysinger has reserved its full funding amount, and already has a waiting list that is 1/3 of the size of it's initial funding.
We do not expect to have any further money to continue this program.
Broadband Coalition is Underway
On April 6th, Kaysinger and the State Office of Administration jointly held a kick-off meeting for those individuals interested in broadband within the region. Over the past several months, many persons were contacted by Kaysinger Basin and other organizations asking for participation in this broadband plan. The plan will outline areas that are underserved, unserved, and served throughout the region.
In five years, the State of Missouri hopes that 95% of the state will be served by broadband connectivity. Governor Nixon has stated that broadband will be the next major infrastructure, just as the railroad was in the 1800’s, and the interstate was in the 1900’s. Kaysinger is proud to be working with the Office of Administration and the other 18 regional planning commissions within the state to create a statewide broadband plan.
